If you’re ever looking for a group of people willing to go that extra mile, then the team at Bracklesham Garage should be your first pit stop on the Sussex coast.
They’ve even been known to repair regular customers’ cars late into the night to ensure they’re ready for the road the next day.
That good old fashioned service means a visit to Billy’s on the Beach for a bacon butty and cup or two of coffee is never far away!
“We’re a family run business which was started in 1993,” says Matthew Jones. “We offer all the services you’d expect, including MOTs, Servicing, Repairs, Valeting, Tyres etc, on all makes and models at competitive prices.”
Found only a few minutes’ walk from Billy’s on the Beach, Bracklesham Garage maintains a wide range of vehicles, including some exclusive rarities such as vintage Rolls-Royces, pristine Ferraris, rare ACs and classic Ford Mustangs. There’s always something to catch the eye on the forecourt.
Director Anthony Jones has been involved in the motor trade for nearly 40 years, originally starting as an apprentice at Shore Road Garage (Johnstone’s) in East Wittering.
Aside from their garage work, Johnstone’s had their own race team and they were involved in the 1988 SAAB Turbo Challenge. Anthony was a mechanic for the team.
This life in the fast lane leads us to the second connection between Bracklesham Garage and Billy’s on the Beach, as we are both sponsors of the local SBG Racing team.
“SBG Racing was started by local businessman, Stephen Field, who is the owner of Southfield Structural Services Ltd,” says Matthew.
“He wanted to start racing and approached us back in 2017 asking for our support. We gladly accepted and signed up to the Classic Touring Car Championship. In our first year together we came first in class!
“We continue to support and sponsor Steve, along with Billy’s on the Beach and other local businesses.”
With the Goodwood Estate only half an hour up the road from Bracklesham Bay, the Bracklesham Garage team regularly head from coast to circuit for Breakfast Club car meetings, as well as the annual Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival.
They also sponsor the Manhood Classics regular car meets down in Selsey – and, as they all live locally, you’re likely to bump into Bracklesham Garage staff there with their own vehicles.
“Closer to home, we use Billy’s on the Beach continuously throughout the year – you just can’t beat the fresh bacon butties in the morning,” says Matthew. “We always send our waiting customers down to the beach for a coffee from Billy’s too, and the feedback is always good.”
So, whether you’ve got a need for speed or a motoring problem you need fixing after your journey to Billy’s on the Beach, know you’re never far from the safe hands of Bracklesham Garage. We’ll get the coffee on.
